The Mardi Himal Short Trek is a compact and fulfilling trekking experience in Nepal's Annapurna region, taking 4–7 days to complete. Starting from Pokhara, the trek winds through lush forests, picturesque villages, and rugged alpine landscapes. The trail leads to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500 meters), offering breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and the iconic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).
Known for its tranquility, the trek is less crowded compared to other popular routes, making it a serene escape. It’s moderately challenging and accessible for trekkers with basic fitness, making it perfect for those seeking a short, scenic, and culturally enriching Himalayan adventure.
Day 1: Arrival Experience in Kathmandu, 1350 m.
Day 2: Towards Pokhara, 830 m.
Day 3: Drive to Kande and trek to Forest Camp, 2500 m.
Day 4: Trek from Forest Camp to Low Camp, 3050 m.
Day 5: Low Camp to High Camp, 3850 m.
Day 6: High Camp to Mardi Base Camp (4,500m), Return to Low Camp, 4500 m.
Day 7: Low Camp to Siding Village (1,700m), Drive to Pokhara, 830 m.
Day 8: Back to Kathmandu, 1350 m.

After arriving at TIA Airport Kathmandu, you must take an arrival visa from the immigration of Nepal for your stay in Nepal. However (15,30,90days), if you want to spend time in Nepal, you must pay ($30 for 15 days, 50 for 30 days). We also want to inform you that you may take up to 3 hours to complete all the procedures. It may vary according to the schedule of the plane and flight that you are coming from.
After that, we will stand at the arrival point with our banner and nameplate and take you to your hotel in the vehicle we have arranged. In this order, you will be welcomed with flowers and Khada (Special Buddhist prayer things). With all that, on the way to the hotel, you will find Nepali traffic jams, which can irritate you, but still, you will explore a little bit of the capital city of Nepal.
1. By Flight (Most Convenient)
From Kathmandu: Domestic flights operate daily between Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) and Pokhara Airport.
Duration: 25–30 minutes.
Cost: Approximately USD 100–150 (one way).
Advantages: Saves time and offers spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas.
Tip: Book flights in advance during peak trekking seasons (spring and autumn).
2. By Tourist Bus (Budget-Friendly)
From Kathmandu: Daily tourist buses leave early morning (6:30–7:30 AM) from Sorhakhutte or Kantipath.
Duration: 6–8 hours, depending on road conditions.
Cost: USD 10–30.
Advantages: Affordable and offers a scenic drive through hills, rivers, and villages.
Tip: Opt for a luxury tourist bus for added comfort.
3. By Private Vehicle (Flexible but Expensive)
From Kathmandu: You can hire a private car, jeep, or van.
Duration: 5–6 hours.
Cost: USD 120–200 (one way), depending on the vehicle size.
Advantages: Flexibility in departure time and stops along the way.
4. By Local Bus or Microbus (Cheapest Option)
From Kathmandu: Local buses depart from Gongabu Bus Park.
Duration: 8–10 hours (often longer due to frequent stops).
Cost: USD 5–10.
Drive: Start with a scenic 1.5-hour drive from Pokhara to Kande
Trek: Begin the trek with a steep climb to Australian Camp (2,060m), offering views of the Annapurna range. Continue to Pothana and then to Deurali (2,100m) for a short break. From here, enter a serene forest trail and trek to Forest Camp.
Begin a gradual ascent through dense rhododendron and oak forests. The trail is serene, with occasional clearings offering glimpses of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and other peaks.
The trail ascends above the tree line, with breathtaking views of Machhapuchhre, Mardi Himal, and Annapurna South. The vegetation transitions from dense forests to alpine shrubs. Arrive at High Camp, a small settlement with a few teahouses perched on a ridge.
Start early for a 2–3 hour climb to Mardi Himal Base Camp. The trail is steep and narrow but offers dramatic views of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Mardi Himal. After enjoying the sunrise and panoramic scenery, descend to High Camp and then continue to Low Camp.
Highlights: Magnificent sunrise, unparalleled views of the Himalayas, a sense of accomplishment.
Walking Time: 7–8 hours (round trip).
Accommodation: Teahouse in Low Camp.
Descend through lush forests to Siding village, a peaceful settlement with traditional Gurung culture. From Siding, take a jeep back to Pokhara.
